SERENDIPITIES GMBH founder Andreas Kyriacou
grew up in the UK, Cyprus and Switzerland. He
studied Technology Management at the Open
University and
also holds an MSc in Clinical Linguistics
from the Universities of
Potsdam (D) and Groningen (NL). Furthermore, he spent a
year in the Universitat de Barcelona’s
Cognitive Science and Language
programme.
Andreas’ core research
interests concern the neural and cognitive
underpinnings of language processing and of creative
thinking.
He contributed the chapter Innovation and creativity: a neuropsychological perspective for the volume Cognitive Archaeology and Human Evolution (Cambridge University Press, 2009) and has published in various journals. Andreas also acts as a tutor for cognitive psychology at Open University summer schools.
With the founding of SERENDIPITIES GMBH Andreas aimed to apply research insights from the cognitive sciences in workplace environments.
Andreas is the president of the Zürich Freethinkers and a member of the board of the New European Movement Switzerland. He founded the Green Entrepreneurs and in the past acted as a member of the board of the Swiss Greens and was an elected member of the school board of the Zürich Uto borough from 2006-2010.
